KVCD 352x240 is Best deinterlaced ?

I realize this is a common question.
I search this out and read several comments, but from the way the comments were it seemed to contridict itself some times..

So I'm still confused.
Bottom line question: If I am making mpegs, 352x240, to burn to a kvcd to be played in my dvd player on my standard television then is it, or is it not, better to "deinterlace" the video?

if your source is interlaced.....
yes,is better!

use the search with the word "deinterlace" and will find lots of answers.
see one found using the search:

VCD at 352x240 is already de-interlaced because you are halving the frame size (480 is cut to 240). By throwing out half the video hight you have effectively de-interlaced.

if he discarded every second field to get to 240 height yes, but if he just resized to 240 height ... then its tricky
