Convert 480x256 to 352x288 KVCD?
 

Hey guys

I have a divx movie that is 480x256 i am debating what res to encode to kvcd in i understand it better to match the original res as best you can so i would think 352x288 would be most suited.

Anyone give me some advice? :wink:

This source res is very small. You are right in thinking 352*288 will be the best. SO just use it.

Why not to use 480x480? Therefore you will remain at last one dimension as is, strech 256 to 270 (for 16:9 proportions), and add top/bottom borders.

Because is is in UK and normally 480*480 shouldn't work. But as we already had the surprise before, you are right : he should try this.

i will give 480x480 a go but as dialhot says i am in the UK but my dvd player should do 480x480 i will keep ya posted.

480x480 worked on my dvd player actually the picture quality looked very impressive i must say :)

I have a question though will it matter that the source of the divx was a PAL format 25fps cause 480x480 is NTSC it didn't seem to hurt my dvd player i mean i didn't see any jerky movements which i normally see if i do encode with 23.9fps or 29.7fps.
