AVI only has one side of audible sound, how to fix?

The AVI I'm playing only has audio coming out of one speaker, the other side is barely audible, it has been confirmed that this a mistake of the encoder. My question is there anyway we can make it so both sides are audible? Like copying one side of the audio to the other? I want to convert this AVI to MPEG-2.

You can do all that with an audio tool like goldwave or cooledit. You have to extract the audio into wav and work on it with these tools.

You can rip audio from your original DVD (if you still have it), change it to mp2 with besweet or headac3he, extract video from avi and encode to mpg2.
