.d2v Problems in TMPGenc
Ok, I posted in KVCD questions, but then found this topic.
I have a .d2v, and tmpgenc doesn't read it. It says it is an invalid format or it's an unsupported file type. I have tried numerous versions. But the funny thing is, it worked earlier, but I needed to format. Now I re-installed the EXACT same version, but now suddenly, it doesn't want to work. Anyone got any advice on this topic or if not, does anyone have any sugggestions to whom I can/could contact? Thanks. |
What version of DVD2AVI did you use :?:
Try 1.77.3  -kwag |
I think 1.76 is the better choise.

I haven't used 1.76 now for about a year, and never experience any problems with 1.77.3 -kwag |
I'm sorry to be repetitive, but, which is better, 1.77.3 or 1.77 dg?
|
1.77.3

@kwag
Have you a link for this version? @kwag again Better Avatar. |

THX, kwag.

Lol, I have version 1.77.3. Also, another thing has messed; it now recently stopped loadin vobs, and when I do, then press 'Ok', it freezes. But what I mainly need help on is the TMPGenc problem first. Thanks.

Which TMPGEnc version did you have?
Perhaps go to the envirolment settings of TMPGEnc and set the d2v file reader with a higher priority. |

I'm sorry kwag but isn't neuron2 version 1.77.3dg? Quote:
Bottom level: is 1.77.3 better than neuron2's 1.77.3dg? If so can you explain us why? TIA Cheers |
I have never tested 1.77.3dg :!:
Because 1.77.3 has never failed on me, I never needed to try that version. Now I ask: What does 1.77.3dg has to offer, that 1.77.3 doesn't :?: -kwag |

I just want to get to the bottom of it :) I've seen so many releases available... Imagine what newbies go through... Maybe we can all agree on which to use/recommend. Cheers |
@kwag
I've tested it again with the DVD2AVI Version 1.77.3 and the same results: AviSynth 2.5x can't read the D2V File. So I use again 1.76 without any problems. |
one time i had problems with 1.77.3 too, don't remember details !
:? i'm using 1.77.3dg and (more)176 d2s modified . dvd2avi FAQ draft from hakko504 have good explanations about each version: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.ph...614#post267614 |

EM you could try 1.77.3dg and save the project as 1.76. You'll find that option in the File menu. BTW make sure you copy the Mpeg2Dec3dg.dll that comes with it to the Avisynth\plugins folder. And be sure to delete/move all other Mpeg2Dec3.dll from that folder. Keep only the one that comes with 1.77.3dg. It worked for me... Cheers |
Yes, but that's not the point.
As kwag said the version 1.77.3 works perfekt for him and not for me. |
Ok, I think my problem is, that I changed the priority level. Its now currently at When Active - High Priority | When not Active - Idle Time Only. The version I am using is TMPGEnc-2.56.39.143-Plus-EN. If anyone know what my priority levels should be . . .
Uhhhhhh, I gots another question; when I tried to convert a DivX .avi movie file, to a .m1v | .mpg, the first 5 seconds play, but then the picture just frozen. The audio is fine, but the picture is frozen. Is it the original file, or no? Thanks peeps, been real helpful. :D |
First problem : priority has nothing to do with all reported before. So that is not the source of your problem.
Second : do you have this with all Divx or did you tried only one ? That can be due to the codec you use on your pc to READ the mpeg1. Note: sorry, I didn't read your problem before ! It has NOTHING to do with dvd2avi version. It' a codec matter ! You must install a YV12 codec (like Xvid) on your PC to be abble to use script with mpeg2dec3 into tmpgenc. |
Ok, so priority didn't do anything...Gotcha. This was the first time it has done it with a DivX, but, almost ALL DivX/XviDs I use, it estimates the file size and time totally off. Even though when it's done, its not nearly what it says it is, but it still comes out WAYYYY too big.
Example: I coded a 56 min part of a film, and, 5 hours later, it came out to 650mb and 235 min. But when I started, the DivX was only 310mb. This also confused me. Thanks for the codex advice. :D P.S. - So you don't have any advice there on the .d2v loading? hehe, sorry, sorta tired. |
Quote:
Let me put this black on white : an xvid codec is necessary to read a DVD source. :-D Note : a 56 min source always gives a 56 min target or there is a big issue somewhere in your process ! Note2 : size of the target has nothing to do with size of the source. Never. |
Yeah, much betta in B & W. Thanks, I'll try her, and let er run overnight. I'll check in tha mornig. Thanks guys!!!!
Oh, and bout the convert problem, then it must be terribly f00ked up. The size, I know, is usually never close, but I thought it was sorta . . . weird, how a 320mb file, KVCD'd (which, I was TOLD made em smaller, but kept mosta tha quality) more than doubled. I'll probably have to find a different tool, then try it again. |
All is matter of settings. You can have a KVCD ten times bigger than the Divx if you want (actually, you don't you that but it's possible :-)).
The same way I have KVCDs half the size of the original Divx with the same quality. Settings, settings, settings... |
Ok, thanks. Do you think you could give me a URL of where I could find YV12? Cause I can't seem to find it, but maybe it's just me . . .
|
Quote:
The place where you go when you want to download a codec :-) Note : YV12 ius not the name of the codec. It's Xvid the name ! Did you copy that ? ;-) |
Heh, didn't know that such a great place would have such a simple URL.
|
XviD-1.0-RC4 is already out: http://roeder.goe.net/~koepi/xvid.shtml
|
Ok, well, the .d2v still is making me work, but that doens't matter; I figured out how to fix that weird time problem I was talking about in TMPGenc, like when it says the time is like wayyyy off.
Example: 235 mins 10 seconds Est. File Size - 2500mb All you need to do, is go to Enviromental Settings > VFPAI Plug-In > Direct Show Multimedia File Reader. Its probably currently at -1. I reset it to +2, and now she tells me the right time on a DivX or XviD movie. To do this, just Right Click > Higher Priority Level. Jus do that til its at +2. P.S. - This problem only happened, when I tried to convert a DivX or XviD movie to a KVCD/(S)VCD, DVD-/+R, etc. It didn't happen to all of them just one here or there. :D Thanks mauddib for the XviD release! |
actually i have problem loading the .d2v in tmpgenc using dvd2avi
1.77.3 ...i also get an error sayin it is unsupported...
|
With the Version 1.76 you haven't any problems.
|
Hrmm, yeah, DVD2AVI still gives me some problems, and now I can't even load vobs or anything, cause it freezes everytime. I think I'll try 1.76.
