Kvcd x3 resolution, will changing it affect it?
hi i tried to kvcd "THE CAT ?IN THE HAT" (mike meyers) using
KVCD-LBR-352x240-_NTSCFilm_-PLUS and KVCD-CQ-352x240-_NTSCFilm_-PLUS.mcf the file resulted too big for one CD, even tho the movies is only 78 mins llong lgiving me a resulting file of about 850mb add the audio to this and theres just no way to fit it in a cdr. i didint want to use kvcdx3 because my brother player doesnt like it but it does play tha above mentioned templates (tried some smaller movies) , so i think it has to do with the 352x240 resolution. question here: if i change the resoltuion of the kvcdx3 will it affect the template in some way, or i can change it with no problem at all? this template gae me like 500mb with default setting and good quality, so i want to try this in my brother's player. thank you. oh btw, if theres any known issue with the above mentioned templates and big sizes i would like to know if theres a solution too. thank you in advance. |
I think cos you've mentioned a movie that is still playing in cinemas (at least here in the UK - I'm a Cinema Manager) you are certain to be booted from this thread.

Nope. I verified that as soon as I saw the thread this afternoon : the DVD is sold in USA since 30 march. So you can have legally that movie at home even if you don't livbe in USA.
I stopped posting but not reading nor moderating ;-) |

I just posted this (not addressed to anyone in particular): http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10345 Maybe newcomers will read and understand some basic principles, before overloading the forum with basic newbie questions. I hope the message is more clear about the purpose of this site. -kwag |
Let say that I gave the finger, the hand and almost all the arm to help people here and I'm tired to see people with 120x less post than me trying to chew a little further.

I see,i haven't looked at that thread since the first day it was posted i didn't realize it got like that
Just to put my 2 cents i see both your points about anwering ths same question over and over and then having something like this go on, but i can speak for most of us especially me that we appreciate your help a hell of a lot and i would hate to loose your guys help because of a few ungrateful people :D Tom |
ok you are all great and this and that
you can start a thread on it even now lets let anyone that can help me do some posting please? 1.- if i change the resolution of the kvcdx3 template will it have any impact on its functionality? 2.- is there any known fix for when the old tamplates give you very big filesizes? and 3 fingerbob well fingerbob :P you should be more informed of the dvd releases since you are a cinema manager i mean i am not and i know some release dates of PAL dvds :D |
here in the UK we don't really concern ourselves with DVD release dates in the US...plus as a cinema manager, all I'm thinkin about is how to keep an eye on all the little erm...cherubs...that come to watch such movies. I'll be glad once Easter is over.... :D
I hope you understand I was merely trying to ensure the integrity of the forum (not that I'm a mod or anything). :P |
ok
so any one has an idea if i can just cahnge a kvcdx3 to lower resolution to be able to play it in a particular player? or will it affect how the template works? |
You can with no problem.
In fact, I wlways use this template whatever the resolution I want to use. The res isn't set by the template BUT BY THE SCRIPT ! |
Thank you dialhot, cool, then i can use it with no probs for those pesky players that just refuse to play anything that is not standard vcd res.
:D |
HI guys
@ Phil Can you please explain the differences between kvcd3 and the kvcd? template I thought it was only the resoution and max bitrate. If not and you need lower resoultion all you do is load kvcd3 and change the rsolution to 352x240? Thanx buddy just a little :? |
