Codecs: Divx 5.1.1 vs Xvid Divx 5 support

Ok so I installed XVID 1 rc4 and it plays all my divx files, but since Divx 5.1.1 commercial is the official divx codec, does it do a better job? Do I make sense? can I get away with just using Xvid?

With Xvid you can do more. You can change GOP sizes and load some Matrixes for better Quality and more compression. You can't do that with DivX which had an unknowen quantisation (I think) :roll:
