HiCon - fraunhofer Video Converter Software

for Win32 PC-Platform !
The motion compensated image sequence format converter ‘HiCon’ provides conversion between the different digital image sequence Standards. This includes the world video standards like ATSC and DVB (e.g. HDTV) as well as the VESA graphic formats. It supports the exchange between the different worlds of media using the popular AVI data format.

HiCon delivers flicker-free picture quality with smooth motion. DeInterlacing is performed preserving full spatial resolution without loss of image resolution. HiCon generates required image rates with sufficient motion portrayal.

‘HiCon³²’ is developed as non-realtime stand alone software under windows or as plug in for video tools in post-production. Image Sequences have to be buffered on computer memory (e.g. Harddisk).

Applications
HiCon is suited for high-quality video-on-desktop and for digital cinema applications. HDTV conversion can be performed. HiCon optimizes the employment of new media flat panel displays like large screen projectors, plasma displays (PDP), LCD, etc. for use with different motion picture material.
