What differences there is between MEncoderMe and QuEnc? FFMPEG?
I am something confused... :(
I Know than Mencoder is a encoder for MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 video. Mencoder is also a front-end of libavcodec library. MEncoderME is a GUI of MEncoder. But... What is ffmpeg? another encoder? What is ffvfw? it is a codec? What differences there is between MEncoderMe and QuEnc? Thanks -Maurus |

And Mencoder is a program that uses the libavcodec library, as much as ffmpeg and ffvfw. Quote:
MencodeME is a frontend for mencoder. You can use all libavcodecs flexibility/parameters and tweak for better quality. All libavcodec parameters are available, not just a few. But it doesn't take directly avs support (but Milan is working on it  ) |

And to add to this, no matter what front end is used, or how good it is, it can only go as far as what libavcodec API permits. That is, you can send libavcodec *only* the parameters each internal function allows, unless the actual libavcodec is expanded :)
But as it is, it's pretty damn good, and we are all having a ball  -kwag |
