I cannot access and download mencodeMe at the specified adress:

Please try again, I just tested and seems to be working fine... Maybe a routing problem? :?

@ Jell

Sometimes VMs Provider seems a bit busy (dont know how to say correctly), so wait some minutes and you can download.

hi vm!

i don't wanna start a new topic for this:
could you tell me the internal mencoder filters and settings used in your DVD Template for MencodeMe? I'd like to give mencoder's internal cropping parameters (DVD PAL -> 704x576 with overscan=2) and hqdn3d filter and the internal noise engine a try and compare it to this AVS script:
Code:

Crop(8, 72, 704, 432)
Deen()
Undot()
DCTFilter(1,1,1,1,1,1,0.5,0)
Blockbuster(method="noise",detail_min=1,detail_max=8,variance=0.4,seed=4326)
Addborders(0,72,0,72)
LetterBox(16,16,16,16)

to put it in a simple way: what mencoder internal filters would be equivalent to this filtering chain?
thanks for helping out!

You can see it for yourself, just click encode and abort when encoding begin. Open with text editor temp.conf and encode.bat files in your mencodeme folder. Also can open with text editor combo files and templates ones in respectives folders.

Hi Jelly,
make as Prodater advises. The DVD filtering combo, as in your script, will saptio/temporal filter and adds noise. Apart from that, it also sharpens/unfilters(blurs).
Related to DCTfilter, I think there's no similar filter in mencoder. Anyway, didn't we drop DCTfilter, at least for resolutions <> 352x288(240)?.
I think was jorel who posted a bug in the filter that made appear white lines... and I think Dialhot confirmed also that.

Almost ;-)

We did drop DCT Filter in cases where the width is less than 480.
As I didn't have problems when width is bigger than 352, means on SVCD and on full DVD ressolutions BUT big Problems on streams coming with a width of 325!
