mancodeme linux wishlist

hi, I tried mencodeme for linux and it's great!!

I think that with some more options it could become perfct ;)
1) audio encoding
I added
of=mpeg=1
oac=lavc=1
and
lavcopts=acodec=mp2:abitrate=128
and added 128 to vbitrate
and I had a perfectly muxed ksvcd
I think it would be easy to implemet ;)

2) a button to save the final complete script with a name
so I can create the scripts with the gui and then execute them when i want maybe on another machine that doesn't have X installed...

what do you think about that?

ps. sorry for my english

Hi mbaluda,

You can do that yourself, by simply adding those lines to one of the "presets" in the "Filter" directory ;)

Edit: Correction :!:
After you set all your parameters on MencodeME, click on "Encdode", and then on "Stop".
Edit the file temp.conf, and there you can add your lines.

I can't use this cause I dont have linux but this mencoder gui looks like it's got a lot of features :) http://gmencoder.sourceforge.net/

sure I can do it myself... infact i did :)
but I had to modify the "encode.bat" to increase bitrate while the total bitrate could be simply calculated from audio bitrate and media size...

Mencodeme could become an all-in-one tool for creating k(s)vcd in linux and also easy-to-use (isn't it it's author wish?)

I have one more wish
the name of the 2pass log file should be dependent frome source name... this way I could lounch more then one encoding at a time!!

ps1. isn't audio encoding OK under windows
ps2. If I had the source of mencodeme I could help... why don't release it as GPL?

You're right :)
Maybe vmesquita can add an "Encode Audio" option, and then it will be done automatically :!:

Even on Windows :)

Too simple :!:
No filtering, no smart resizing, not enough options and abandoned since 20030613.
It was really targeted for AVI generation.

no, but I have a cluster of 2 machines (PIII)
I wish I could make my setting on the gui then save a script for each file I want to encode
It's simple but doing it by hand on temp.conf is quite stupid :)

Hi,

Check the brand new To-Do List:

I added your idea.

I'm looking forward for seing these features!!!

maybe you can also add a button to save the encoding script as a single batch file without needing to start and then stop the encoding process
or maybe change also the .bat and .conf file names according to source

I promise I won't add a wish every day ;)
