@fabrice
I'm on it  ! |
I've finished the test. I used 8000 for max bitrate and 300 for min bitrate (in TMPGEnc) and I can't really see any difference between the two encodings...
BUT - The encoding time was VERY different :!: . In the time TMPGEnc took to encode I could probably have done about 1/3 of the whole movie with PackShot (MEncoder) ! And the sample was only about 2 minutes long  . |
wow sounds great im thinkin bout buying it
thanx for all the info guys keep up the good work :P -trigger911 |
i have no readavs plugin
Quote:
There i can get it? The directory contains only such files: DShowReader.vfp DShowReaderCD.vfp DShowReaderLD.vfp DShowReaderMD.vfp DShowReaderSD.vfp AAEmp2.vme AAEResample.vme NoiseReduction.vme Qt.vme Resize.vme VFAPI.vme wm9.vme Is "readavs plugin" one of it? So how to force activate it? |

use mencoder ? :-)

I think pegasys built in some avisynth filters. Or something like that you can specify which parts of the movie to filer more with the ghost reduction filter :) I'm gonna see if this really makes better skvcds than mencoder does I don't think that is possible because 2,58 came nowhere near.
EDIT: It's alot slower than mencoder I made a jpeg and tried to use the same frames but the avi mencoder and tmpegenc al had different frames (tmpegenc directly encodes your audio and muxes your movie but it doesn't playback correct on my computer :? ) the tekst on the jpg is dutch the one on the top is the source in the middle tmpegenc3 and the one on the bottom mencoder http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/i.../2004/06/1.jpg so the tmpegencode time is 18:54 with muxing and audio encoding and the 9:14 mencoder encode is not with audio encoding and muxing |
I demuxed the tmpegenc3 sample muxed it with mplex and now it works perfectly :)
|
I don't know how you did your samples but you should change that : you are losing all details ;-)
|
its an xvid source it just can't give the same quality as dvd source. The tmpegenc3 sample was without filters :) The bitrates aren't that high either but still to high for a ksvcd
|
Quote:
The fact that the source is an xvid doesn't matter ! I'm not talking about non existant details but about lost details during the compression. The lost is the same whatever the source you have. For sure, the less you have details in the source, the less you will have in the target (that's logical) but here you HAVE details in the source and you don4t have them anymore after that. I'm damn sure that my v4 script won't lose that much details with tmpeg 2.520. Can you try it, just to compare ? |
I'll try that tomorrow. But mpeg2 never gave me good results at that bitrate :P
|
Oke I was wrong  But mencoder still gives the best quality
Tmpegenc 2,5 with dialhots v4 script. http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/i.../2004/06/2.jpg |
Let imagine what can be done with mencoder AND my script ;-)
|
Is it good on DVD source aswel? Im testing with kwags new script now and its fast :)

Well thanks I'll use it next time I encode an xvid :)

HELP!! I've bought the tmpgenc exp 3.0,registered,downloaded the retail version, installed the setup launcher, restarted my computer but don't know where to find the tmgpenc 3.0 Express icon. Usually it tells you where the file is going to be installed, but this time it didn't so I don't know what to do. Please help!!!
|
In the normal place, Start->Programs->TMPGEnc?
|
Can't you just go in you "C:\programm files" directory and sort the entry by date. Look at the folder created or modified today (or when you installed the soft) :?:
How do you live when we are asleep ? |
well I tried looking for the file under the name TMPGENC 3.0 in my C:\ it wasn't there, and with tpgemc 2.5 I had a little shortcut on my desktop. I didn't realise it installs itself on my start menu. It didn't say anything about being installed there
|
Does your mum know you are using the PC when she's out ?
Seriously, how old are you wowie ? We are here to HELP people to do KVCD (and that's a pleasure to do that), not to ASSIST them to live :? |

OK, I tried TMPGenc 3 with XDVD settings for my my mini DV material. Results are very good.
As some of you know, I use your script in TMPGenc 2.5 Quote:
So guys what do you recommend. How do I include any filters or improve further the results with TMPGenc 3 ? As mentioned-source is clean mini DV from a digital camcorder. |
There's a new optimised version of KernelDeint here:
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=81322 And UnDot() can be safely replaced by RemoveGrain(mode=2). http://www.removegrain.de.tf (the page may load very slowly!) For captures, you might want to try CNR2(): http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=78905 There's something to play with  |
OK-how do I use this in TMPGenc 3?
Do I still import the KDVD template? Do I use scripts like in the TMPGenc 2.5 ? Thanks. |
Those are just changes in the Avisynth script so you'll have to load it in TMPGEnc, of course. I wouldn't use any of the TMPGEnc filters
|
Do you guys know of any good templates for TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress, I've been able to find this one only:
http://66.102.11.104/search?q=cache:...c+xpress&hl=en Also, are the TMPGEnc 2.5 templates accessible from the main page ever gonna be "upgraded" to 3.0 Xpress? Thanks. |

Anyone else has got something helpful to say for a change? |
He only answered your question. What's wrong with that? It's highly unlikely that they will ever be updated for 3.0.

Don't. I'm quite sure your feelings towards Phil will change to the opposite in sometime. You will find that he can really help when you need ;-) Quote:
Overall, TmpgX3 seems to be a GUI uplift from it's previous and very successful 2.5xx versions. If I were you, I'd go back to tmpg 2.5 and use the existing templates. That is, if I were you, of course. Cheers |
DARcode, welcome in forum!
Phil is an http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/i.../2004/09/1.gif and take care of the whole forum with extreme knowledge and goodness.... and will help you a lot!...trust me, Phil is a joker and sometimes uses "economics and objectives" works in his answers(like..."no") |
Thanks guys, regarding Dialhot (Phil?) he's already expressed his lack of interest for TMPE 3 XP in the Italian forum, where I tried to help a user he basically brushed off, anyway I'm new here so I might've misinterpreted his intentions and attitude (even though "No" period is a pretty blunt reply), we'll see.
Back to the thread's subject: I still have TMPGE 2.5 installed and I'm still using it, but TMPGE 3 XP is way faster on my machine (with identical, at least to me, results) and it supports the Pegasys AC3 plug-in too. Is there a newbie forum/subforum in here where I can ask a ton of silly questions, please? |
Quote:
As I said also in july on italian forum, all people here have two hands, a brain and the official spec for KVCD. But in all this time no-one ever deliver an updated template. If there is any interest for that, why don't you update the template(s) and simply share it with the community ? Asking, asking, asking... Quote:

I asked the same question both in the Italian forum (actually it was another user) and in this one since I think they're browsed by different users mostly. Arguing aside, tell me how and I'll convert the templates, let's start with what the .MAT file downloadable from that German page is for and what is its equivalent in the TMPE 2.5 templates (I'm oblivious to the architecture of both), please. Also, do I need any other tools/applications? |

You are the first one that report to have a speed gain by using it. Beside that, all people agree that this version is just a (paying) GUI above the old engine. |
