TMPGEnc: Why is MPEG bigger than the original .avi file ?
Hi
I managed to encode a .avi in to a .mpeg file but it came out bigger than the ori .avi file Basicly the file i am trying to encode is: 692Mb And it turns in to a: 906Mb file what am i doing wrong. I am using the 352x288-PAL template PLEASE HELP ME! |
The ouput size has nothing to do with size of the orginal but with the settings you put as min/max/avg bitrate for the video (or value of the CQ if you encoded in CQ or CQ_VBR mode).
If you changed nothing to the template, I think you did the job with CQ=70 qs it's the default. This value is too big for the source you have. Eache source need a different CQ in order to obtain the target size wanted. You must do a "file size prediction" manually or with a tool like CQMATIC (see the corresponding section on this forum). |
sorry but u lost me lol
