Favorite Scary/Horror Movies
Well, we've covered a lot of the other "Favorite" movie categories already, so how about listing our favorite scary movies?
Here's some of mine (in no particular order): Psycho (Hitchcock's original version) Night of the Living Dead (original '68 version...the Black&White grain of this film is just such a perfect fit!) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (again, the original version...haven't seen the remake yet) Candyman Hellraiser (Pinhead is by far the coolest looking "baddy" I've seen!) Poltergeist (that darn clown doll freaked me out! ) 28 Days Later (the originally-intended ending would have been better, IMO...but still good) The Ring Evil Dead/Evil Dead2/Army of Darkness (I count these as 1) -d&c |
What about Scary Movie :?:

i think of "redneck zombies" :D http://german.imdb.com/title/tt0093833/
or "roboman" (robowar) http://german.imdb.com/title/tt0093833/ |
after seeig gigli,,,i'd consider anything with ben affleck
'a scary movie,,,,' |
Affleck
I agree, the guy is a wet rag. I don't like his movies or his acting. Not as bad as Keannu Reeves, but getting there quick as his scripts continue to weaken.

I agree strongly with 28 Days Later and The Shining. I'd also add Battle Royale; the concept might be a bit flimsy, but when you start following some of the characters you can really feel how freaked out they are.
There's also a great Italian classic called Suspiria that has a good combination of shock- and cheese-value. Very colorful and very bloody. |
The Ring scared me a lot, I didn't like the original RINGU but I watched after the american version so I knew more or less the sequence of events, killing the surprire.
The Blair Witch Project was very scary also, because it looks very real, at least to me. I had to keep reminding myself that it was only a movie. 8O |
