Call for help to the forum German members

Hello to all German members:

I know that this may sound weird, but I need your help in finding something in Germany:
The shield that you see on the left of this post, is my family emblem. I have the original, but is faded and would like to be able to find the original recorded shield. If I am not mistaken, the emblem has additional information regarding its registration, it reads "IM 3 Theile d. europ. Heraldick" which I believe is talking about where the emblem was registered.

Please PM if you can help me find its origin or what this means, and/or could direct me to an organization, office, or web site, that can help me.

Thanks and best regards

Otto

Hi totonho,

I also got a familiy shield and I know how dificult it is to get enough enformations etc.

Ill use the german search engines to pick something interesting for you out, maybe the other german members too, so we finally could get some infos.

Hi Incredible:

Thank you for your help, I do appreciate it very much, and am looking forward to hear from you or any other German member. I do not speak German, but can communicate in English and Spanish.

Hi Otto,

i've done a short research. The problem is that the text you give is too general. Do you have any other information?

Here is a link:

Hola Otto!

Krassi is right, do you got some more details?

Cause Germany is full of shields!

In case of search you can also use altavista/babelfish or googles languagetools - not that we are too lazy but just a hint :)

Good luck in researching your family heritage Otto! I know how difficult and frustrating that task can be sometimes  (especially when important historical documents have been destroyed in a fire/flood/etc! :x ).

*Off-topic, but the US dvd release for "Lost In Translation" is only 2 weeks away! :) I'm also looking forward to seeing that one.

Just an update here:

I have received a couple of e-mails from different sources, one of them was from the lead that Krassi gave me (Thanks Krassi), and the other from one that I found in the Internet, which was rather rude...... I am still talking to both of them, and am waiting to hear for an answer, which should be given this week....
Will keep on trying to locate my roots...........

Thanks again

Otto
