Hi andybno1,
We don't promote piracy, but there's nothing that we can do to prevent pirates and anyone from using our techniques :!: The same goes for TMPEG, CCE or any other encoding/encoder company. And yes, I've seen ALL kinds of groups already distributing KVCD movies ( ShareReactor (now defunct), Suprnova, etc. etc. etc. ) Just go to google.com and search for "KVCD" and you'll see (currently) Results 1 - 10 of about 59,800 for kvcd. (0.11 seconds) And those numbers (growing every day) make me ( :rotf: ) and smile  -kwag |
The worst case I saw is a Disney movie released under emule by someone that is quite a big poster on the KVCD forum (or actually by someone that use the same nickname).
Pity, isn't it ? |
And the offered Quality there is most worse than the possibilities of KVCD do provide :!:  The whole world by this thinks aha, thats KVCD so.

There are a few release groups that strictly work with kvcd,i know piracy sucks and all but it does say something good about KVCD :D

So even if I wanted to share with other people, I'd have to stick with the lowest common denominator to get it to play on the majority of players, but lose out on the benefits of higher resolutions, VBR, etc. Plus I suspect many of them are created from multi-disc SVCDs and XviDs, so the original quality wouldn't be that great to begin with. Combined with the need to get them onto one disc as quickly and easily as possible, I don't think people who do this would bother with AviSynth or filesize prediction... :-P |
