Free dvd software and free dvdfab version?

Free DVD removes several protections from a DVD folder on the hard disk. It removes region code (RC), region code enhancement (RCE), analog copy protection (Macrovision), and user operation prohibitions (UOPs). You can use it to get a free DVD before you burn the DVD folder. It's only 44K.

DVDFab Express (Free Edition) is a simple version of DVDFab Express. It copies entire DVD movie to hard disk, and removes all the protections (CSS, RC, RCE, Macrovision, UOPs and Sony ARccOS) while copying.

Why need it?

We all know DVD Decrypter is a great DVD ripper, why we need another one?
Well, the reason is DVD Decrypter's development has stopped, so it will not
support newer version of Sony ARccOS protection automatically. Fortunately,
DVDFab Express (Free Edition) is always updated to support latest protection,
so you can backup your DVD movies to hard disk as before. For example,
Movie 'Closer' can't be copied by DVD Decrypter automatically, but with
the help of DVDFab Express (Free Edition), you can copy it without problem.

I didn't know there is a free edition of DVDFab. Thanks.

@AlexandreBH

Thanks for the links to these two tools it is very handy to know that we have alternative ways to rip DVD's for our personal backups now that DD is no longer going to be updated.

Much appreciated. :)

I read today on doom9 news:
Quote:

DVDFab comes from the same people that constantly update the DVD REgion+CSS Free "on the fly" decryption layer
If I'm not wrong this piece of software is done by chinese people (Majors don't have a lot of power there ;-)) and this couple was the best challenger to DVDDecrypter "in the past" :D

guys,
tylo did a new engine to work together with the new dvdfab decrypter.
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=95992
DVDFab Decrypter CLI : http://home.broadpark.no/~tylovset/f...crypterCLI.exe

Code:

If your OS is non-english, you must change some strings in the .ini file that is created. The command line is similar to that of DVDDecrypter, but simpler:

DVDFabDecrypterCLI.exe [/?] [/start] [/close] [/src <Folder>] [/dest <Folder>]

as my OS is non-english, i don't know how to use it.
can someone give help to change the command line for use in portuguese br?
tkx!

dvdfabfree now is DVDFab Decrypter,download:

I think you have to replace in the ini file, the english string (right part of the '=') with what you see in your brazilian OS.

Quote:

BrowseTitle=Browse For Folder
OverwriteText=&Yes
My OS is french, so when I browe for a folder, the title of the windows is "Recherche de Dossier". The same, when there is a "Yes" button, I french I see "Oui".

So the ini file, for these two lines, becomes :
Quote:

BrowseTitle=Recherche de Dossier
OverwriteText=&Oui
You have to find values for other lines (I don't use DVDFab so I can't tell)

i was using dvdfabfree and now with dvdfab decrypter don't need to change anything. tkx!

For people who want to use it from a personal GUI (dvdreasy, I'm talking to you man :o), the new version has a CLI support :
