But, if anything, it was and is (or could be) a good "reference" tool for aiming at better encodes (improving techniques) .. you could always just pop in an quicky encode (dvd2one) and compare yours w/ it, etc. to see where or how far you've come. The way I see it, is this.. if you approach the same level of qualit OR BETTER, then you're on your way (more fun) that it :) But you are right.. that its more fun and exciting to go it the long way, finding new things out and learning along the way.. could only lead to a finer (soon to be) Encoder.. hint, hint.. and you right, it's much more fun doing it all the longer/harder way.. much more fun. Well, nighty night all.. singing off.. .. -vhelp |
Here is an interestic Doc about transcoding

Here is an interesting link where it is explained in a plain way the concept behind transcoding mpeg2 in the compressed domain, interesting reading, could be of some interest... :D |
Here's a thought. How about those movies that will not fit on one cd such as Minority Report. If you used dvd2one to fit on one dvd then perhaps the encoding will allow you to fit on one cd. kwag, can you run a test to see if this is true?

@All,
Just tried full version of DVD2one to backup "Blood Work" and WOW!!! 8O :D The picture was exactly like the DVD 8) The author promises updates that will allow you to split a movie on 2 DVD-R's for higher quality for movies 3+ hours. I can't wait for that :D Is there a good freeware DVD player available??? :?: :?: I burned it using Imgtool and it played absolutly perfect on my stand-alone DVD player. 8) -black prince |
