dvd drive

Is the quality better if I rip a dvd and encode it to a kvcd, compared to, from divx to kvcd.
I´m thinking of buying a reading dvd drive!

I bought dvd-rom just because of dvd to vcd. When once you have divx or
xvid it's already compressed and you are loosing quality. When you are
converting from dvd direct.... there is not compressed source. It's way
better.

That´s what I was thinking, I´ll buy one when I got money!
