DVD+R only work on DVD+R supported drives?

When I burn dvd files onto DVD+R media with "Elby's Clone DVD"
They work on my non DVD+R compatable drive,
But when I use nero or anything else they only work on DVD+R supported drives.
Can someone please tell me why this is?
Is clone DVD burning the discs thinking they are that of DVD-R when they're not or is nero & shrink burning incompatable DVDS ?
???????????????

It's very incompatibel to burn video DVDs with Nero. Please always use a programm like TMPGEnc DVD Author to burn or create an image which you could burn with nero.

Hi EM :),
I don't want to start up a big question out of this but I've been using ImgTool for quite some time and it uses NERO API and I never had a KDVD that would fail to load on SA player.
Can you point me why we shouldn't use NERO or it's API?
Did you see it on a message board or something?
TIA
Cheers

I'm logged in some other forums and there are the people have some problems burning Video DVDs with Nero. Perhaps your player read the disc.
But I can't go detailed. If someone have problems with nero I only can preffer other authoren and burning tools. :)
