PHILIPS DVD Q50

i have a PHILIPS DVD Q50 dvd player and it doesnt like vcd's or svcd's (xvcd) made with kwags templates.
the convenience of one disk films would really suit me, anyone have any suggestions?

If it plays VCD's, have you tried the KVCD 352x240 PLUS?
It's the closest, as far as compatibility, to a VCD.
