KVCD on Pioneer DV-380-S(/K)

Hi guys,
Just to let you know that following DVDREasy's (Pedro's) recomendation, I bought an LG DVX9843K.
Due to my famous luck with electric/electronic equipment that unit was DOA :(.
So I was given another unit just to find out that it's digital audio (coax) port was either malfunctioning or incompatible with my Yamaha digi-amp.
So I returned that unit and bought a Pioneer DV-380-S.
S for silver / K for black, go figure...
That unit cost me 99€ against the 79€ of the LG unit but I have to be fair: those were the most well spent extra 20€ that I have ever paid :D.
The image is sooooo much better than anything I've ever seen 8O.
And this baby plays everything that I've thrown at it :D.
Even OGM :P.
I'm still testing every capability of the player but I'm quite confident that this is the best DVD player that 99€ can buy.
Soon I will post my full tests results ;)
Cheers

That's why I told you I paid 230€ for a pioneer "well known for its picture quality" ;). This was the DV-360, and the DV-380 is surely the new model (with 2006 prices !).

And I can tell thtat you will play whatever you want (try long "24 frames" GOP in MPEG1 480*480 DVDs... that works :p).

That's it Phil ;).
I have never ever seen a picture quality such as this SAP delivers.
It's absolutely amazing.
It plays everything, even wicked test KVCDs with the extreme settings.
Hell, it even plays XviDs .
So they say, because I haven't tried converting a movie to XviD just to test it.
But I will, just to proove that the unit is working 100%.
BTW, the only downside that I've found is lack of on-screen MP3 tags :(.
But that might be solved in future firmware upgrades :D.
BTW2, this unit is said to be exactly the same as it's bigger brother DV-585.
The only visible differences between both is that DV-585 can play SACD and it has an digi-optical output to the amp/receiver ;).
Well, DV-585 is a lot more expensive than DV-380 but if you need SACD support, then that's your best bet with Pioneer units.
BTW3, DV-380 shares the same firmware with DV-585 ;).
Cheers
