Sony DVP S530D

I know it is the 530 Sony but I am not sure if I have the alpha part correct
Anyway, I have been reading in many places on how to get the VCDs to work on my Sony DVD Player, 95% of people have had a goo luck with the STI CDRs from Circuit City, I have purchased a 100 pack since it was on sale for $9.95 ( it was $29.95 - $20.00 mail in rebate )
I have recorded a VCD on it & played it, it did not work " NO CD FOUND " is the message, I have send that CD to a friend that has a Sony 360 DVD Player & it worked on his with out any problems.
My question now is this, I have purchased this DVD Player when it first came out ( about 4-5 years ago ) even though on the front & in the manual it claims that it plays VCDs I have not been able to get it working.
Any ideas?

I used Nero 5.5.X to record the VCD, use Phillips 4x4x16 400 series CDRW ( recorded it in 2x & 4x)
I use ATI AIW Radeon 32MB DDR video card
PIII800 with 512MB of Micron memory
60GB WD HD 7200rpm
Windows XP Pro

No cd error

I have a samsung 709 which displayed the very same message, although the vcd's i made worked in my friends dvd players.Samsung assured me that it plays vcd's. I then found that if you use a certain type of media it works fine. I now use Princo discs and they work great every time. The site is :-http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk/acatalog/index.html The prices seem to pretty competative.
:)

I have a Sony DVP-S530D. I used cladDVDXP, TMPEG with KWAG's KVCD template and burned to a STI CD-R from Circuit City with VCD Easy and it works great! It may be possible that you may have done something wrong, but unfortunately I am still a newbie and can't help you much.
