Apex AD-1500 and the new xkvcd beta template

I tried the new beta template and I gotta say I was very impressed. Now I know that with the old template I had to change the rez to 352X240 ,up the bitrate to 500, and finally mux as svcd. This is the only way I get it to play smoothly.
So here is my dilemma. I've tried burning as nonstandard vcd and remuxing and burning as svcd. I also fooled with the minimum bitrate and went as high as 600. I even tried changing the vbv, but alas no worky.
The Player recognizes the resolution just fine, but the video is jerky. If I encode in mpeg2 then it plays fine (using pulldown). I forgot to mention that when burning as nonstandard vcd, the video is fine, but the audio skips (just like the old template).
I know that there are alot of people with apex players and if anyone could help I would appreciate it. Thanks and keep up the good work kwag.

I think the problem has to do with the VBV buffer for the Apex. Try re-encoding a small clip at a VBV value in TMPEG of 24 ( half the value in the template ) and see what happens. Please post your results.

Well So far, Starting with the beta template unmodified I changed:

VBV=24
-Burned as vcd, Worked better but fps speeds up and slows down. Also audio had same old problem skipping.
-Remuxed and burned as svcd, audio/video out of sync. Same prob as vcd

Next I upped the minimum bitrate to 500 AND VBV=24
-VCD -- same
-SVCD -- same

I'm not sure what to try next. Any suggestions are welcome of course.

btw I use nero to burn and author. I tried vcdeasy and tsvc but it doesn't like 100+minutes svcd, but that comes later.

I tried the new template Kwag and its incredible... I havent tried it yet on on an actual dvdrip though, i will soon though. Ive only tried it on a capture. I cranked the CQ to like 70 for a 1 hour capture that i wanted to fit on 1 cd. Again its great.

I got it working just fine on my apex ad 1500.. i didnt even have to do any remuxing or anything.. the 704x480 works beautifully no pops or skips in the audio. The only thing that i did different though was i changed the audio from dual to joint stereo. Ill try the dual stereo later on.
