KVCD: Can Pioneer 333 play KVCD VBR ?
 

Hi all !
Can Pioneer 333 play any kind of KVCD ? Or any kind of VBR ?
If he can in what therms ? :?

The 333 will play the KVCD 352x240 fine. The 352x480 NO!. It displays only the left half of the screen. I'm almost ( almost :roll: ) sure the 704x480 plays.

When u say 352x240 that means 352x288 will work too , right ?
I've tryed SVCD - NO success .
tryed KVCD 352x288 (non-standard VCD) - won't play eather .
I have to try KVCD 352x288 (standard VCD) as Timberwolf did maybe it will work ?!!

on my 343 if I demultiplex and then remultiplex as an SVCD the 352x480 plays correctly.

I just tried using the kvcd cq 352x480 template set to 352x240 to do ice age. The video looks really good, but the sound is out of sync on my pioneer 343. On the template's page it states this template works at 352x240 on the 343...what do I have to do to get audio in sync?

I remultiplexed as an SVCD and that fixed the sound problem but then I get a jumpy blur line at the border between the edge of the movie and the black bars.

Anyway, if it says it works at VCD resolution why do I have sound sync issues?

is this (704x480) a DVD compliant resolution or a XSVCD ???
why dont go to 720x480 Full D1

704x480 is a valid VCD "Stills" resolution. So it's more compatible than 720x480 for mpeg playback. Also, you won't notice higher quality from 704 to 720. It's just 16 lines.
