Playing movies as your desktop background?

This might be a little off topic. But has anyone had any success with playing .mpgs as your desktop background or even dvds. I supposed the question here is can active desktop files be used to open standard exe programs. I know that you can run java applets inside of your active desktop, but can java applets play dvds or mpgs?? Anyways, just wondering.

Hi birdiestremph,

A couple of weeks ago, I saw a TV show on TechTV ( www.techtv.com ), which allowed just that.
I don't remember if it allows MPEG playback, but I know it had some psychodelic lava style in motion, as your actual wallpaper. It looked pretty cool :D
Head on over to their site, and do a search there.
