question about pioneer dv 366
i red in the site that this dvd can play kvcd, so i went to buy it.
but i wanted to make sure it plays kvcd, so i downloaded from here the kvcd sample cd. i tried to play it in the store, it showed the menu(it was moving a little to the sides), but it wouldn't play it. does it mean that this dvd isn't good for kvcd, or could it be a problem in the cd sample? thank's |
Hi ts,
It could also be a problem with the CD-R media you used :!: You should try another brand  -kwag |
is it supposed to be a special media? or should i try anything else?
does it matter if it's a cd-r or cd-rw? thank's |
Players are less tolerant for CD-RW than CDR.
And following the model, some don't accept all media brand (depends on the material of the disc). But except that, any CD-R is correct. Just think to burn it in 4x max for your tests. |
ok, i burned a new cd on x4 and went to the store, it gave the same resolt.
eventually the salesman saw that it doesn't work if you click play, but insted you have to select a track and click enter and than it played it. so i bought the dvd :} thank's for all the help |
Warning : I have a pioneer (that works everytime ;-)) it's a 454. The operation you do (select a track then play) starts the read without PBC.
That means that you won't have any chapters usable on your KVCDs. |
well i'm not sure what you explained now  but if i select track 1, it playes it and than continue to play the other tracks.

Why do you have more than one track on your KVCD ? I guess it's because it has a menu and as you can see, this menu never appears and you can't use it.
For the same reason, if the KVCD would have chapters (as you can find on a DVD), you never be abble to jump directly to the chapter you want. You will have to read all the movie in fast forward from the begining. No direct access to a specific scene. That is the problem with disc read without using the PBC (play back control). Read the manual of your player, it will be explained in more cristalin words :-) |
ok, thank's for the help :)
