New model Pioneer DV-355 in Asia (DV-350 in other markets)
Has anyone bought this player, is it good? Is it able to play all kinds of KVCD?
To avoid misunderstanding, it is a slim player, the DVD tray is at the middle of the player, some markets have black colour, only silver is available in Asia. |
Hi everyone,
I found that it may also called as DV-353 (the outlook is almost the same as the Asian model--DV355). If there is anyone who has this player, I would like to know if it plays KVCDx3 (both mpeg 1 & 2), test on other templates (like KVCD-Plus, KVCDx2, KVCD....) would be highly appreciated! Thanks in advance. |
Hi there,
I have finally decided to buy this player (Pioneer DV-355 or DV-353 other than Asian market), I have been struggling to choose between this one and Panasonic RV-32. I chose Pioneer at the end. I have played all KVCDs that I have made including KVCD, KVCDx2, KVCD-plus, KVCDx3(both Mpeg-1 & -2), SKVCD. DV-355 plays them ALL without a hitch. Please note that I have only made 352x240 (original KVCD), 704x480 (KVCDx2 and KVCD-plus), 544x480 (KVCDx3 Mpeg-1 & -2). I did NOT test any KVCD's template at 352x480, someone reported in the forum that 352x480 won't play properly on Pioneer. Anyway, I made a right choice. Kwag, please update the compatibility list and I can't thank you enough. Keep up the good work, I am looking forward to seeing a break through in KDVD. Hopefully, we can put the same awesome quality as KVCDs on a DVD. |
Hi Kwag,
I have tested your kvcd-compat.zip on Pioneer DV-355, it plays ALL of the sample clips, please update the compatibility chart. Once again, thanks for your great work! |
