KVCD: Pioneer DV-343 playback problems?

This site has become so big, and there are so many templates now...and so many comments on templates that no longer match with the changed templates...that I'm completely lost.

Is there an answer to KVCD with the pioneer 343?

If I want up to 120min on an 80 minute CD which template do I use, and what must I change for it work with my pioneer 343. I've been trying the KVCD 352x480 template - changing the resolution to 352x240 and have had no luck. Sound is always out of sync.

I remultiplexed to SVCD and got a disturbing brightness around the point where the picture meets the black borders.

But things have gotten so big here I can't follow through what others have done to figure out what I should do.

drowing in too much info =)

Is there a set change I must make to KVCD or KVCD Pluse or KVCDx2?

Hi m0rdant,
If you look carefully under the PLUS templates, it specifies the play time for each. If you want the best possible quality, use the PLUS templates. You should try the 352x240 PLUS template, if you want to put the complete movie in a single CD, because that template is rated for 120 minutes on each CD. The mpeg encoded with the 352x240 PLUS template should play without audio/video sync issues on the Pioneer 343.

Thanks for the quick response!

I'll give it a shot and post results. Haven't tried that template yet.

Download the 352x240 PLUS sample and burn it. Just to be sure, before you do a full encode. All the samples now have audio.

Hi again Quag, I tried buring the sample but still had audio stutters.

I'm now going to try using DVD2SVCD with the CQ template settings and KVCD matrix, but use mpeg 2 - as someone on here said that worked for their pioneer.
