Thanks for the info, I did try using the kvcd matrix with xvid as you can edit the quantize matrix for it and it works quite well when viewed on my standalone player which supports, in a roundabout...

KVCD matrix question
This may be a dumb question so bear with me please :)
I know you can use the kvcd matrix if you can edit your mpeg encoder matrix while capturing direct to mpeg1, can this be done with non mpeg...
