Hello folks,

Since last week, I get weird errors whenever, I load any AVS file into VDub/TMPGEnc/CQMatic/MakeAVIs etc...
It says that the DLL File MSVCR70.dll could not be found, and that the application could not be started... Please re-install the application blah, blah
well, I found out that this MSVCR70.dl has something to do with the Microsoft's .NET. I downloaded the missing DLL and copied it to System32 folder. Now the programs don't start at all anymore...
I really can't remember what program I installed that caused this error!
Any ideas how to fix that besides new fresh XP install?

Cheers!

hello,

did you find any solution ?
I got the same problem since I use removegrain. If I put the dll in the right place, the programm won't start.
If I remove the msvcr70.dll (or msccr71), I've got the "the dll, blablabla, not found" message but I click "ok" 4 times, and finally, it works.

I found the answer to my problem of the "missing file MSVCR70.dll" error in TMPGenc. I COPIED the file MSVCRT.dll in the WINNT\SYSTEM32 folder to MSVCR70.dll (COPY not Rename!) << i'm using Windows 2000
but msvcrt is already in my winnt\system32 folder (I have windows 2000 too).
it's not only avisynth, it's virtualdubmod, too. with msvcr70, I've got "runtime error"; without, I have "msvcr70 missing", but it works if I click "ok" 4 times.
windows...

I'm not sure you understood the hint : you must have msvcrt and msvcr70 identicals ! Copy the first one and rename the copy as "mscvr70"

I tried it too, but still the same thing, even after reboot :
with the msvcrt-renamed-msvcr70 + the original msvcrt in winnt\system32 folder : runtime error and it doesn't work.
with the msvcrt all alone in winnt\system32 folder : "msvcr70.dll missing" 4 times but it works even so.
thanks anyway.
