@Anyone,

My subscription with Titannews expired, and they no longer accept PayPal
I'm looking for a good Usenet provider that can sell "blocks" of GBs just like Titannews.
For example, what I had with Titannews was 100GB of data transfer in one year, for ~$49.00.
So it's 100GB of download, or one year, which ever comes first.
Is anyone aware of a similar plan from another provider
I don't want to pay a monthly subscription. I want to "buy" a block of data transfer, pay once, and then use it as I want. Just like Titannews plans.

Thanks,
-kwag

Tera News has a 12GB per year $29.95USD.
Not much competitive with what you used to have.
I'm all out of ideas...

Im sure by now you probably found a news provider. www.news.astraweb.com sells them in blocks as well. 65 gb for 25 dollars and 250 for 100 dollars. I use their unlimited plan cause i share it between me and my bro.

Hey, not bad!
Look:
Quote:
The pay-by-download plans are suited towards both heavy and light users of usenet. You are not limited by speed, however, your downloads are metered. You purchase bandwidth as and when needed and your purchased bandwidth never expires or runs out.
You buy it and it never expires unless you spend it.
Not bad policy at all .
65GB for $25.00 is not bad also.
Taking that as a reference, if they had a 100GB plan it would cost ~$38.45.
That's very competitive when compared to Karl's TitanNews 100GB ~$49.
As usual they say they have all the newsgroups and that they keep every message for 25 days (this is a standard).
Should we trust that, heyitsme?
I mean, since you have their account you can tell us if they're not bullshiting us with advertising.
Cheers

Thank you heyitsme
That's the best deal I've seen
I just sent them an E-Mail, because I didn't see PayPal on their list, so let's see if they accept that

yeah i would say 22 days is their retention rate for the bigger groups. After that you get some incompletion. But i have been with them for over a year now and i am very satisfied. The download rate for me is around 600-800 depending on how my connection is doing.

You mean 600~800Kbit/s?
For me it's wonderfull because I'm surfing on 512/128Kb/s.
For others with 2048/256Kb I guess it's ok although 1Mbit/s would be the perfect figure.
Well, for 25GB/$10 I guess we can't ask for much more, can we?
I'm quite sure I'll subscribe with them in the next few days.
Thanks for sharing it with us .
Cheers
