wow!
thanks. :D |
Hi!
I tried your kvcd guide but have some problems,Im getting this when I shall mux the sub file into the kvcd file,I have muxed the kvcd file as svcd. "of" is not a valid integer value. Dont know what this is and hope someone can help TBO |
where is this guide?
can it be used in kvcd and ksvcd?
or does it need to be ksvcd? |
Switchable subtitles is a SVCD feature only. You can't put that on a VCD.
|
thats what i believe, i got confused when i saw the guide said kvcd and not ksvcd, and the part that reads "mux as svcd" (of courseksvcds are supposed to be muxed this way so this being specifically noticed in the guide is what brought the question to my mind)
i was under the impression that a regular kvcd muxed as ksvcd will be enough for subs to work when i read that part. have you tried this? |

Good news: download the latest media player classic, and you'll be able to test the mpeg file with muxed subs in your PC.
I'll add something about this to the guide. |
Yes. And Vlc does that also.
|
Unfortunately, I couldn't get VLC to show SVCD subs. To be more exact I couldn't even see DVD subs with it. I could only see subs with AVIs by loading a sub file.
Besides, VLC crashed everytime on 3 systems I tried (98SE, XP ans 2K). :imstupid: |
I use vlc on my office PC because it is under NT4 and that is the only player that does not crash here :-D
|
Phil,
Can you view the SVCD subs? Would you mind posting the necessary steps, then I could add them to guide (credited to you, of course). Thanks, |
Actually, It's ahrd to test that at miy office but I loaded the SVCD sample profidec by dvdrhelp.com.
Vlc detect a subtitle track (the menu is activated, and I can see "track 1" checked) but nothing is displayed :-( (perhaps a matter of font used taht is not on my PC but I do not find that in the options) |

Edit: Long ago somebody complained that a sample from dvdrhelp has subs with wrong position - they were out of the screen. So, maybe this is the reason... |
Right :-)
|
where has the guide gone?
