All 3?
Look at the SATA cable having the issue. Swap it.

If no change, something with the motherboard, maybe OS drivers?

New system?
Old system? Any changes recently?

When was the last time they were known to work? Was it on the same PC and with the same OS?

Has anything been done to the drives, such as update the firmware? or attempted change to the drive region code?

What make and model drives are they?

Do you get the same result with both home-burned DVDs and commercial DVDs?

If only home-made DVD, were burned on another system? were they finalized?

They were unused for a few years but before they were good

I updated the firmware now after the problem so it's not firmware

LG GH24NS90, Samsung SH-S223F / BRDH, Samsung SH-S223C models

same result with data dvd and windows dvd

the dvds were finalized recorded on 3 different pcs with similar systems

If other known good PC and drive cannot read the disc you may have a bunch of bad discs.
What brand disc and how long ago were they burned?
What operating systems are involved?
If OS change since the drives worked, ard the drives rated for the new OS?
If other PCs can read the disc, but not with the drives, they may be bad?

When was the last time the disc were readable?
