Help Identify Video Capture Board on Sony VAIO

I have an old Sony VAIO VGN-A417S 'laptop' with an A/V Docking Station VGP-PRAV2 (i think that is a European only model). I bought it 16 years ago and not used it much in recent years, but since I started learning about video capture I have found it to be a capable machine. Still running Windows XP SP2 and ithe original bundled software plus VirtualDub + Filters from here.
The Docking Station has inputs and outputs for S-Video, composite video and stereo audio.
The graphics card is an ATi Mobility Radeon X600.

Can anyone help identify what capture device Sony used in the docking station? Could it be an ATI model?

Apparently it has a hardware MPEG Encoder for the built-in analog TV Tuner (no longer in use of course), but I cannot find any information about the actual capture hardware specs.

Thank you for any help.

On the VGP-PRAV1 it looks like the capture module consists of a NXP/Philips SAA7115 video decoder, and a CY7C68013 usb bridge. The pinnacle moviebox a user here looked at uses the same video and usb chip, but different mpeg encoder chip. Maybe it's something related. It's possible they used something else for the PRAV2, but can't find any info on the internals of those. The SAA7115 is a decent video decoder chip at least, but hard to much else. Not clear if it can capture lossless or mpeg2 either.
