WinRAR program puzzle - refuses to unzip

It was WinRAR that I was using to try to unpack/install the downloaded AC3 plugins...And it refuses. I'd blame Vista, too...But it's probably more my unfamiliarity with how to (step-by-step and correctly) use WinRAR...
Help??...:(
