Firewire extension cables for under $20.00
I know I had this in my mac mini thread, but I thought it might be better to start fresh on a new thread.
My macs have only 1 firewire port, & I have multiple firewire external hard drives. I looked at firewire hubs but they are very expensive. So I thought I could use a single firewire 800 cable extender & swap my hard drives with it, so I do not wear out the firewire ports on my macs from plugging & unplugging my firewire drives. |

That's for Firewire 400. I've never seen an extension cable for Firewire 800. If it's not sold by http://eshop.macsales.com, then there's a good chance it doesn't exist. I see this page on Google: http://www.usbfirewire.com/Parts/rr-cfbextr-9902.html ... but no idea if it's reliable. :2cents: |
