DVD recorder will not record from new cable box
 

My dvd recorder that I have hooked up by composite (y,r,w) from the out of my Brighthouse cable box to the in on my dvd recorder, my cable box is the new one but all three of the previous boxes (all were hd dvr's with hdmi port) let me record on my dvd recorder, now my dvd recorder says something like this program is not allowed to be recorded or something like that, is this the anti-copy bs and how can I beat this?
