I have managed to capture good quality MPEG2 files to the PC. What is the best software to use to transfer these to DVDs please? I am assuming that encodong which takes very long time is not necessary.

I can author, if needed, using the TMPGEnc Author unless one can suggest better software.

Well, Ulead DVD Workshop 2 is better software, but also much more expensive, and much more complex.

"Best" is a relative term.

TDA is very basic software (limited menu abilities, for example), but depending on the usage, it may be perfect for you.

Agreed. Tried it out last night and it was fast for DVD writing. I will need to consider an authoring tool for MPEG2 files and this to create DVDs.

There are also some "advanced" tricks for TDA, some of my friends use them. Work-arounds to give motion/audio menus and first plays. Last I saw, this software was hovering in the $50-100 range, so the price is hard to beat.

Sometime like DVDit! PE and DVDWS2, though better software, may run $200-400 or so.
