Professional DVD and Blu-Ray authoring softwares recommandations?
 

Hi. I'm looking for (and professional) good authoring softwares for DVD and Blu-Ray authoring, which must be able to do multi-angles image, seamless branching (for both discs system) pop-up menues for Blu-ray.

Any recommandation aside of Adobe Encore & Sony DVD architect ?

What do you mean by professional? Many free programs do a better job than many paid programs (though not always the case), and many pieces of software have great encoders and bad menu creators (and vice-versa).

What are you looking to create as your end product?

I don't think the free programs do well at all -- aside from Simple DVD Creator for menu-less DVDs.

The best packages include:
- Ulead DVD Workshop 2 (for DVD only, no longer sold)
- Adobe Encore
- DVD-Lab (for DVD only)
- DVD Studio Pro (Mac, now part of Final Cut Pro Studio package)
- Sony Architect

But TMPGEnc Authoring Works 5 does an admirable job. I use this for all Blu-ray work these days. And DVDWS2 for most DVD authoring.

(I feel like I'm forgetting on. Hmmm....)

Doubt it. It's not that advanced. DVD-Lab or DVD Studio Pro is what I'd use for that. I'd outsource the project to a member here for DVD-Lab (he's a whiz at it), or DIY in DVDSP. I'd usede PcgEdit for this in years past.

Is that even a feature of Blu-ray?

Blu-Disc Studio might be close. I've never used it.

It's not cheap. It costs about 2x of what DVD-Lab did, and I always found that expensive as it was. Maybe if it had any kind of GUI or wizard, I'd have thought otherwise. As is, both programs are bare bones as can be, in terms of the UX (user experience).
