Re-Authoring w/o re-ripping?
Re-author a dvd without going to mpegs?
Right now if I want to add a menu to a DVD that is already complete I have to: 1) rip the vob's 2) use mpegvcr to change vob's to MPEGs 3) Use DVD author to add menus 4) reburn IS there a way to skip the need to change from VOB to MPEG in this process? I have some disks that I would like to menu but that process is a pain in the ass. |
The simplest thing would be to rip/copy the VIDEO_TS folder to the hard drive then load up TMPG DVD Author and import the VIDEO_TS folder, it will then bring up a list of what you want to import
It will import based on the track/chapter structure of the original DVD, then you can just add your own chapters or menu and have it create the new VIDEO_TS folder which you would then burn That removes the entire step of ripping into VOB's and/or changing to MPGs. Unless you are needing to edit the VOB's you should not need the step of turning them into MPG's to begin with |
YOU ARE THE MAN!

dvdremakepro would save you even another step as it does not re-author the authored disc. It would let you add or replace whatever menu you desire and output only the modified files. Of course though this app isnt free
