HD vs Blue Ray. Who will Win?

I think HD discs will win over Blue Ray. Around Christmas time all the HD DVD's were wiped out and the Blue Rays hardly touch.

Yikes!! It's like Beta & VHS all over again. [88][88]

I don't understand the need for either of them, oh, wait, yes I do, they need a reason to charge us more money for no gain..... :D More than likely, HD-DVD will win, but I don't really care. I think either one will end up being the new Laser-Disc.

Laserdisc, S-VHS, Super Beta ..... HD discs will be forgotten to time. The new wave of tech will be networking, on-demand and solid-state media. HD discs are just a crutch for money-hungry companies who also know the next generation media will not get here until about 2010-2015. Pricing, infrastructure and workmanship are not here quite yet, but most certainly will be.

I guess the lesser loser will be HD-DVD, while Blu-Ray will be botched by the eternal ineptitude of Sony.

I think both will fade away. They cost too much and there isnt enough of a difference. If the ps3 doesnt make it i dont see Blu-Ray making it at all.

according to that report, blu-ray is beating HD in sales by 2 to 1!
but i suppose you can always skew stats to suit your arguement.

personally i don't much care for either format.
the 30G or 50G capacity is great for me to archive more episodes per disc, but i'm willing to wait as long as it takes to see if either really does get established.

for now dvd rulez!

I agree. I'm going to hold out for a while to see who prevails.
