Best DVD player for DVD-Rs?

What is the best and most reasonably priced DVD player for playing homemade DVDs?

Up until now, I've been using Panasonic DVD players, but both of mine are dying. I'm wondering if there's another brand that would work just as well, which might be a bit cheaper than the Panasonic.

Any help would be appreciated.

Toshiba DVD players. My favorite one is the one I bought in 2002. I bought my mother one in 2005 because hers kept dying. The Toshiba I got her is still going strong too.

El-cheapo Walmart specials have worked the best for me! $29. I've been using their Norcent player for over a year and it plays everything I throw at it, same for the CyberHome. I've found the many of the cheaper players will play everything.

I have been using my Cyberhome 300 for a few years now, not sure if they make them anymore (only see Magnavox at Walmart lately).

LS is right about the Toshiba though, my brother and best friend use that one.

A friend broke my DVD player (sigh), and in turn, bought me a GPX (with receipt). I was planning on returning it to get something better, but maybe I'll just give it a try.

Thanks for all of your help!

Philips 642 model I believe.Plays Pal/NTSC/-/+r disks, divx disks as well. It's played everything I tossed in it thus far.The cyberhome model I had played a ton as well, and cheap to boot!

I have no idea what a GPX is.

I hadn't heard about the brand either. Teeny-tiny as they come, with too few buttons. A week or so ago, K-Mart sold them for $30.

GPX has been around for a while. They are great little machines if you have kids, cause they play everything, and if they break them, I don't care :D. Definetely not high end, but they are ok for normal viewing.
