Old Go-Video dual VHS decks?
i'm retired now and ready to go thru my 88 VHS tapes and save interesting docs. etc. that you can no longer find.
So, could someone please tell me which of the GV Dual VHS Decks (not the stacked ones) were the most reliable (or at least the least-bad? ha-ha!) Thank you. PS: i have a vhs-to-dvd recorder, but not ready to use it yet. |
The only thing I remember about them is they are all crap, but for just getting a video from a tape to the HDD if quality is not important they could do the job assuming your capture card can cope with mediocre timing signals.

Go.Video dual decks are literally the #1 crappiest deck ever made.
Not exaggerating here. The worst. Ever. These craptastic units were infamous in the hobby toon/TV trading scene in the 90s. Anybody using these for their tapes was not to be dealt with. If video had an STD, Go.Video was it. Horrible machines. The screwed up the timing/timebase more than any other deck in existence. Do not use these. |
