MPEG 2 plays upside down in windows media player
For some reason mpeg 2 video files play upside down on windows media player on one of my computers. It doesn't happen with any other type of files. Does anyone know how to fix this problem or why it happens? All help is much appreciated.
Thanks Matt |
You need to run GSPOT 2.52 and open the properties of the MPEG file. Then RENDER the video file, and see what MPEG decoder is being used. The problem you describe is caused by a malfuctioning MPEG decoder.
The way to remove or disable an errant codec or decoder is to use a program called "DXMAN" and remove or disable it. |
Thanks LS...I will try to fix it tonight :)

I removed the codec that was causing the error but now no MPEG 2 video files play. I tried downloading a MPEG2codec from the internet and now the video isn't upside down anymore but now I don't have any sound and it seems to play slower than normal. Do you know where I can get a codec that will fix this problem or anything else that I can do?

What kind of audio is it?

To be honest I really don't know. In any case I downloaded a codec package and now the mpeg2 video files play with sound but it is very choppy. It just seems that everytime I think I have fixed something another problem arises. I'm sorry for all of the troubles LS and thank you for all of the help you have provided so far.

Don't ever use a codec pack. That makes a mess.
GSPOT also tells you the audio. You have to be sure you have a proper audio codec installed. |
I installed the mainconcept mpeg2 codes and now everything works. I tried using the ligos before but it didn't work but now everything seems fine. I appreciate the help LS.
