Hello 👋

I am looking to purchase a full frame TBC for Home VHS digitising. The issue I am having is the two recommended ones here are around £2000 to fork out on. I have foun another for sale. I would like to hear your opinions on the tenlab tr-1000pro.

Nope, not a TBC of any kind.

Certain Tenlab models have TBC enabled on PAL<>NTSC conversion, but not PAL>PAL or NTSC>NTSC. And the formats conversion quality is awful, 1990s era ghosty/jittery mess. Some Tenlab have nothing at all, in terms of TBC. These were not device made for VHS tapes.

There are other better options, on a budget. None of them are "true" TBCs, but TBC(ish) in nature. And no, I don't refer to lossy DVD recorders.
