Selling an NTSC JVC VCR with TBC, but tape issue

Hi

I have a Japanese JVC VCR that has issues loading tapes, it first started by having trouble to eject occasionally, then eventually it kept getting worse until it is no longer possible to load tapes or eject them properly. Other than that everything else seems to be working.

I can provide photos on request if you need any particular photos to see the inside of this VCR or if you wish to salvage it for parts. (the internals are a bit close to HR-S8700EU)

Asking price 125$ (shipping to USA included) or 100€ (shipping to Eu included).

Another possibility if you need it repaired and want to use it, I can possibly send it to VCRshop, who serviced some of my foreign VCRs before (in EU), or any other refurb'ing service of your choice for repair and it is up to you to arrange the repair with them and the shipping to the final destination.

It will probably still end up cheaper than importing your own unit here.

I have 2 of this model, so fixing this one does not interest me and I don't want to spend more money on these as VCR shop already refurbed another one that works fine for me and I am using it.

What's the model number?

I guess it wouldn't matter much anyway since it is not a known model here, but it is vxg300.

P.S I realize I never said it explicitly in my post. But obviously, the long description means the unit is sold for parts/for repair. Price includes shipping and in fact, the price is mostly the shipping price.

It actually does matter, When looking for a donor machine you want to have the model number to look up for the service manual to see if the same parts are used, Anyway the model number you provided returned nothing on google search, It must be a typo somewhere.

Google doesn't know all.

9600/9800 clone (NTSC model numbers), probably closer to PAL 9600, 9700, or 8700 as stated.

Manual is dated 2000, so likely related to HR-Sx700/Sx800 models. The HR-Sx600 models are from 1999.

Excellent doc find, I attached it here. Now all he needs is a buyer, and the buyer to repair. :)

Google does know most of time and I use other search engines too, I found the same results above, I just don't understand Japanese.

I read "Japanese For Dummies" years ago.
Need to try Babel sometime.
There is a Youtube video showing how you can use ChatGPT as your language buddy.

It is not. Now you understand why I said it does not matter. Not because the info is useless, but because even if I tell you, there is nothing you can do with it. Even if you speak Japanese there is no (easily?) accessible service manual for this model. Only a user manual.

I see LS and Hodgey gave good replies, so thanks.

As Hodgey said, It is a clone of Sx700 (probably), based on manufacturing time and internal design, so I saved people the trouble of debating this and included the info directly in OP. Of course, I can't guarantee the interchangeability of parts...

The closest you can get to a service manual is random people servicing their machines.

If you are hoping to use it for one single particular device you have, It might be risky, the ideal new owner for this machine would be someone who owns several machines/repair shop to make the best use of it, or someone who has parts and knowledge and wants to repair it.

I was interested, but not anymore, If asking for info is a hassle, I wonder how shipping would be.
