Hi guys

I know, it's a long shot but looking for my "forever" deck. Looking for a JVC HR-S7600AM. Preferably with DD fixed or bypassed.

Thanks

I've found one of these for sale, possibly two.

The first is in Russia. Unfortunately, paying would mean circumventing sanctions and paying with some strange method of payment. This isn't an option for me.

The second is on a Chinese website, Taobao. However, to get more info I need to register, it's all in Chinese and translation doesn't work well. I don't really want to give personal info to some Chinese website. It may also not be for sale when I get logged on.

So, upshot is, if anyone can help me try and buy one of these, I have someone lined up who will do a refurb.

Or if someone has one for sale, even better.

Thanks
Gary

Funny that my two decks I have, I bought one from Taobao and one from Russia, I can no longer access my Toabao account due to an impossibility to pass the captcha challenge which is hard coded in Chinese (that tells something) and the Russian guy was an eBay seller.

What I would do if possible is approach both sellers and see if they list on eBay for you, a long shot but worth a try. Do keep in mind that whatever you buy is gonna need a serious servicing and possibly repair.

Well, since I posted above, I've actually found Parcelup.com who actually buy in your behalf from Taobao and then forward to you for a fee - so I've researched it and it's legit with good reviews.

So I've done that - and as per your recommendation I've got someone willing to do a full service, and I'll ask for the DD to be disabled.

If in USA, don't forget the tariffs.

- Russian tariffs are currently 200%, so basically 3x the price to import.
- Chinese tariffs change based on temper tantrums.

Most post offices are still refusing to deliver to the USA, and UPS has been caught dumping packages. That leaves Fedex, who is extremely sloppy with deliveries lately, losing packages.

For some of us, now is a terrible time to import video gear.

I've been cut off from almost all non-USA sources now, between unwillingness to send and excessive import costs. It's a good time for a partial video sabbatical, now relying only on in-USA connections.

"Based on temper tantrums" so true. Appreciate the heads up and info. I will take that into consideration at the point I pay for shipping.

I can't believe this is actually happening in the US, Even the tiniest countries on the map are laughing at us now, The official white house communication channels are used for putting out childish arguments and stupid memes for the entire world to see, This is what you get when a government is run by clowns, Sorry for going off topic.

Funny I felt the same way when that lying criminal corrupt influence peddling traitor was being led around by the Easter bunny. Oops sorry for continuing to be off topic.
