I would like to try this card. Must have cables and installation CD.

In the original packaging with all the cables included. Thanks.

Thank you. I saw it yesterday. And I already emailed the seller. But it's PAL. I want the NTSC one to be able to capture using S-Video. Or it doesn't matter for S-Video?

I wasn't familiar with this line of cards. So basically GT, XT and XL are all suitable as long as the form factor is PCIe x16 and not AGP. XL and XT come in either AGP or PCIe x16 whereas GT comes in PCIe x16 only.

If that's the case, moderators, please change the subject from "WTB: ATI All In Wonder X800 GT PCI-e x16" to "WTB: ATI All In Wonder X800 GT/XL/XT PCI-e x16"

It does not matter. Only the (now useless analog) tuner is PAL, not the s-video/composite connection.

Yeah with MMC you can select to capture NTSC with S-Video .

The card in that auction is the US/NTSC version anyway. The card has F connectors on the tuner while a PAL version will have Belling-Lee connectors. Definitely make an offer, that price is a bit high even if its "complete". That card was for sale back in August when I purchased my PCIe card (also complete in the box).

Some ebay digging found this as well: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271707527481

Worth making a reasonable offer on that one too. It has the all important dongle, just needs the purple input box which can be found easily elsewhere.

Thank you guys. Is there a significant different between X600 and X800? And also very important that both have fixed gain, right?

I have an idea. What if I buy a naked card and then will buy cables from here:

http://www.svideo.com/atiaccessories.html

But I will need an advise from someone who has the card as to which cable to buy and also if he has an installation CD.

NJRoadfan 12-17-2014 08:04 PM

They don't have the splitter cable that runs from the card to the breakout boxes anymore. The X600 just has a slower GPU, the capture section is the same. Drivers off of AMD's site work fine with this card, although you have to run MMC 9.x. The card does do on-board audio capture, so no need for a sound card loopback or worry about audio/video sync.

metaleonid 12-17-2014 08:36 PM

I see. If capture functionality is the same, I'd rather go for X800 since I'll also be replacing the graphic card with this one on my friend's computer. Is there anyway I can buy the splitter separately? So I need the splitter, and the breakout box, right? The breakout box can be purchased from S-Video.com, right?

And one more thing. Is it going to conflict with my ATI Wonder 750 HD PCIe? I have it on the same computer.

NJRoadfan 12-17-2014 10:35 PM

The difference between the X600 and X800 are nil unless you plan on playing 10 year old games (these are DirectX 9 class GPUs after all). The drivers and software are even the same.

The purple input box or the later style "domino" input box can be had for cheap on ebay, just keep an eye out for them. The square looking proprietary cable that plugs directly into the card is gold though (usually called "ATI AV I/O hub"), they are no longer available new.

There should be no conflict with another capture device in the machine. I run multiple capture devices myself.

And then I should have him covered. I believe I have a x600 CD in my collection. :congrats:

The x800 guys counteroffered me for $80. I will try to negotiate for $65.

Update 1/16:
The video capture part of this card didn't work. Device can't start was the error message. I returned it.

My x800 card gave me tons of problems . You have to have the right software installed in a specific order , its very picky.

I followed lordsmurfs advice and installed the software in a certain order , that he uploaded to the forum and my x800 card started working perfectly . Heres the thread ,

Should've read this before. But anyway, I already returned the card. And plus I wiped out the entire OS. Installed fresh XP SP3, Chipset drivers and the X800 drivers. Didn't work. Right now I'm trying to find the PCI AIW card. If this doesn't work, I'll ask a member of this forum to build the entire ATI AIW box for me.

I don't have PCI express so I must have the PCI version .

Whatever version you end up getting , lord smurf should be able to help you get it working .

I'm running Windows XP , Service Pack 3 , and I installed the software in the exact order he said to do and it all runs great .
