Yes, it is good for storing optical media, assuming it is store at room temperature. However, it will not protect against cosmic radiation, tsunamis, or molten lava.

What about 2% hydrochloric acid? What about fungus? Does it protect against that? :D

From light, yes.
I use those. Noting that I bought mine a decade ago, from now-gone sites. Not from Aliexpress, which may or may not send you exactly what is pictured.

Correct. Just ask Reed Richards, Ben Grimm, Sue Storm, or Johnny Storm. They're leading experts in the field of cosmic rays. Attached is a photo of what happens.

This DVD box you said is good protection from the light but two DVD discs in this closed case cause friction and problems?

lordsmurf 07-06-2020 06:27 AM

That exact case in the photo of the listing has historically not warped or overly grasped the disc. YMMV. It really depends on the quality of the exact case. I once saw a cheap version, which could crack the inner disc, and warped it. But I'd have to see a sample case. Back in the day, I'd buy samples, before committing to the large orders. You can't really do that as easily anymore, or at least not as cheaply.

would you recommend this dvd case?

Price looks a bit steep. But I guess it is 70 cents for the two cases and the rest is shipping.

Quality of cases varies widely and there is no reliably way to predict it. I've received some that literally stunk of chemicals.

I have found these to work OK for me and they have a nearby store so no shipping for me.

they also offer a 2-DVD case

Waiting...just waiting for you know what! Ooooh...the suspense is killing ME! :D

I bought the black DVD cases but when they are closed I see a small opening where the arrows are marked, will this light and UV light enter and impair the long-term storage of DVD discs? this case has space to store two media

If you are storing the DVD cases with a high-powered laser pointed directly at the opening, then yes, that will be a problem. Storing DVD cases in a dark, cool area is recommended.
