One of my drives will not eject using the button on the drive. But the software command works. So I just eject in the software. It's bad to just shove a drive back in, so I use the load function. If the software doesn't have a load, I'd usually use my other drive (I have multiples per system). But sometimes I need to "no eject" drive (for scanning), so I use DVD Decryper just to open/close the drive, then do what I want, close scanning program,
DVD Decrypter again to open/close. Or
Imgburn, same thing really.
You use whatever tool it needs. Most are actually using command-line (DOS), but it varies on manufacturer.
